Hi, I’m Torrie! I’m in my fourth year of the Bachelor of Social Work program through the University of Manitoba’s Distance Delivery stream, bringing over 15 years of experience in the social services field. I hold a Social Service Worker diploma (2012) and a BA in Childhood and Social Institutions (2016).
My career has focused on mental health and addictions, with experience in both group facilitation and one-on-one counselling, always using a client-centered, trauma-informed approach.
Outside of work, I’m a mom to a spirited one-year-old and a playful Aussiedoodle. My family and I love spending time outdoors—camping, walking, trail riding, or relaxing by a bonfire. CrossFit is my daily reset and helps keep me grounded.
I’ve recently completed my placement at Heal Therapy and look forward to connecting with you!

Reaching out for support can be challenging, and I’m really glad you’re here. Taking that first step can feel daunting, but you don’t have to navigate things on your own. My approach to psychotherapy is grounded in relational theory, with the understanding that meaningful change occurs through authentic, attuned connection. In a world where that kind of connection can sometimes feel hard to find, I strive to offer a space where you feel seen, heard, and understood. Whether you are navigating the impact of past trauma, feeling overwhelmed by recent events, or managing ongoing stressors, our work will focus on developing a deeper understanding of your challenges and identifying pathways toward meaningful change. At times, coping strategies that were once effective may no longer meet your needs. In therapy, we will collaboratively explore these patterns, with a focus on building insight, enhancing emotional awareness, and developing more adaptive ways of responding. I hold the perspective that individuals are inherently resilient and capable, and that with the right support, growth and healing are possible. My work is informed by an understanding of the mind-body connection, including principles from Polyvagal Theory, to support increased awareness of how experiences are held both emotionally and physiologically. This integrated approach can help foster a greater sense of regulation, safety, and overall well-being. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities and tailor treatment to your individual goals and experiences. My approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and holistic, with an emphasis on meeting you where you are in your journey. I strive to provide a therapeutic environment that is warm, collaborative, and grounded in respect and authenticity. Sessions are available in-office, virtually, phone-based, or as walk-and-talk appointments in the community or nature. Client Focus: Individuals ages 16+ Approaches: EMDR, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy Areas of Support: Anxiety, mood-related concerns, trauma (including attachment trauma), perinatal mental health, grief and loss, life transitions, interpersonal challenges, emotional regulation, work-related stress, and experiences of intimate partner violence.
